on november 21, 2020 we started a semi-annual tradition—bored and feeling cooped-up by the covid lockdown, we ordered ourselves a little treat from a local bakery and then took to the road with one goal: to eat cake by the ocean.
we obviously realized that the only true way to eat this was like animals.
the aftermath was impressive—though i honestly assumed 3 people could do more damage to a cake.
we stayed on the beach until the sun began to set. then, full of sugar and feeling a little less stir-crazy, we got back in the car and drove the 3 hours home after a day well spent.
